FluidX3D
The fastest and most memory efficient lattice Boltzmann CFD software, running on all GPUs and CPUs via OpenCL.
A GPU-accelerated lattice Boltzmann CFD application for large-scale 3D fluid-flow simulations.
About the Project
Why use this?
FluidX3D uses the lattice Boltzmann method to simulate fluid flow on GPUs and CPUs through OpenCL. It is designed for high memory efficiency and large-scale simulations, making it particularly effective for complex geometry, porous media, microfluidics, and visually detailed 3D flow fields.
Aerospace and mechanical engineers choose FluidX3D when they need fast GPU-based CFD for exploratory aerodynamic studies, flow visualization, or large voxel-based geometries. It is not a replacement for every RANS or adjoint-optimization workflow, but it is exceptionally strong for accessible, high-throughput lattice Boltzmann simulation. [219][221]
