JSBSim
An open source flight dynamics & control software library
A flight-dynamics and control library for modeling aircraft in standalone batch simulations or within FlightGear, Unreal Engine, and other environments.
About the Project
Why use this?
JSBSim is an open-source flight-dynamics and control software library used to model the flight of aircraft and other vehicles. It can run as a standalone batch simulator for testing and study, or be integrated with FlightGear, Unreal Engine, and many other simulation environments.
Aerospace engineers choose JSBSim when they need a reusable, scriptable flight-dynamics model rather than a complete visual simulator. Its XML-based aircraft definitions support custom control systems, aerosurfaces, and flight-deck instrumentation, while its batch mode supports faster-than-real-time simulation for engineering analysis and research.
