PyBaMM
Fast and flexible physics-based battery models in Python
An open-source Python package for physics-based simulation of battery performance, aging, and electrochemical behavior.
About the Project
Why use this?
PyBaMM enables efficient simulation of battery performance and aging through physics-based continuum models. It includes a framework for writing and solving differential-equation systems, a library of battery models and parameters, and specialized tools for simulating battery experiments and visualizing results.
Renewable-energy and battery engineers choose PyBaMM when they need to explore how cell design, chemistry, operating conditions, and modeling assumptions affect performance. It is used for lithium-ion cell design, degradation studies, fast-charging analysis, research, and digital-twin development, with flexible model definitions and fast simulations across operating scenarios.
