pyJMAK
An Open-Source Python Toolkit for Modeling Microstructure Evolution
An Oak Ridge National Laboratory Python toolkit for modeling phase-transformation microstructures, including heat-treatment-relevant steels and titanium alloys.
About the Project
Why use this?
pyJMAK is an open-source framework for modeling microstructure evolution during processing and heat treatment. It is validated for Ti-4Al-4V and general steel systems and can be applied to heat-treatment problems when initial phase fractions and process conditions are provided.
A materials or heat-treatment engineer should use it when they need a scriptable, physics-informed alternative to purely empirical process planning. It is particularly useful for exploring phase transformations, process-parameter sensitivity, and microstructure evolution in steels and titanium alloys, and it can be integrated into Python-based simulation and optimization workflows.
